Grant for "Inclusive Trade and Decent Work: Supporting Policies" (2020-2022)
Project: Contributing to sustainable development through more inclusive trade that benefits a wider range of workers and businesses. Beneficiary: International Labor Organization Amount: 468,000 euros Duration: 24 months The project aims to develop and share knowledge through a better understanding of policy measures that provide an answer to (negative) trade effects on the labor market. In the first place, the project proposal aims to build knowledge through strengthening the capacity of ILO member states to implement international labor standards, including labor provisions.

Grant for evaluation of cooperation with the International Labor Organization (2020)
Project: Implementation of the cooperation agreement of 7 March 2016 with the ILO, which stipulates that an independent evaluation takes place every four years Beneficiary: International Labor Organization Amount: 21,000 euros Duration: 6 months The evaluation aims to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the current cooperation between Flanders and the ILO, as well as formulate recommendations for a more strategic and effective cooperation between Flanders and the ILO. The evaluation analyzes both projects and the modality of the Trust Fund as a form of cooperation.

Beneficiary: International Labor Organization Amount: 616,000 euros Duration: 24 months In a rapidly changing economy and labor market, not only young people, but also adults must continuously retrain or retrain in order to adapt to the changing demand for labor market-oriented skills (skills). Grant for APOPO for expansion project fast TB detection to COVID-19, Mozambique, 2020
Project: extension project fast TB detection to COVID-19 detection in Mozambique Beneficiary: APOPO asbl Amount: 599,970 euros Duration: 15 months (from October 2020) APOPO has been a partner of the Flemish development cooperation in Mozambique since 2009. The organization has been working on TB detection in Maputo since 2013 and has an extensive network of local partners, a good infrastructure and experienced staff. An important problem in the fight against Covid-19 is the very limited testing capacity in the African region. More laboratory capacity is also urgently needed.

Project: protection staff of AfriCoVER project Beneficiary: Institutio Nacional de Saude Mozambique (INS) Amount: 87,000 euros Duration: 12 months The AfriCoVER project aims to better understand the transmissibility and epidemic spread of COVID-19 in Mozambique and Sub-Saharan Africa. This way, medical and preventive resources and strategies can be used more effectively and efficiently. For Sub-Saharan Africa, it is important that the role of other infectious diseases such as TB and AIDS, of specific social interactions and of asymptomatic infections is also examined.

Grant to Red Cross Flanders for emergency aid Beirut - explosion port, 2020
Beneficiary: Rode Kruis Vlaanderen Amount: 200.000 euros Duration: 12 months (august 2020 - 2021) On 4 August 2020, an explosion occurred in the port area of Beirut, Lebanon. This sent a shock wave through the city, causing more than 200 deaths and 6,000 injured. 300,000 people from Beirut became homeless as a result of the explosion. The Red Cross Lebanon (RCL) launched an emergency appeal for USD 19 million.

Grant for 'building markets for prosperity' of ACE, Malawi, 2020
Project: Building Markets for Prosperity (BM4P) Beneficiary: Agricultural Commodity Exchange for Africa (ACE) Duration: 2020 - 2024 Amount: 1.500.000 euros ACE operates as a trade facilitator bringing together sellers, warehouse managers, banks and buyers to create structure and order in the agricultural market, which is predominantly in the informal economy. A context in which small-scale farmers are easily exploited. The project builds on the previous project "Strengthening Farmer Organisations and Rural Structured Trade Mechanisms in Malawi" carried out by ACE and WFP (2014).
