The International Gymnastics Federation says the 2023 world championships will be held in Antwerp, Belgium. The 2023 world championships are being held from 9 Sept. to 8 Oct. 2023.

That year it will be exactly ten years ago that the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships were also held in the Sportpaleis. Ten years after the last edition, Gymfed, the Government of Flanders and the City of Antwerp are proud to once again join forces for a top sports event. Minister of Sport Philippe Muyters: “ We are particularly pleased that in addition to the World Choir Games and the Flanders Food Week in 2020 and the World Cyclo-crossing and Road Cycling Championships in 2021, we can now also welcome the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in 2023.  In this way, we can put Flanders even more in the spotlight. ”

The Pre-Olympic World Championships are the most important and largest gymnastics competition in 2023. In addition to the World Championships, the men’s and women’s gymnasts in Antwerp are aiming for the last team tickets to the Olympic Games, which will take place in Paris in 2024.

This is now the fifth top event to be attracted to Flanders by EventFlanders.
