On 23 October Quebec and Flanders launched a project call Culture aimed at cooperation in the performing arts sectors for young audiences, dance, music and digital culture.
A new work programme for the period 2021-2023 will be signed next year. In the run-up to this, the departments of Culture, Youth and Media and Chancellery & Foreign Affairs are organising this project call for projects.
The first cooperation between Flanders and Quebec dates back to the early 1980s. A broad Joint Agreement was concluded in 1989 - renewed in 2002 - and covers, in addition to culture, many domains including domestic administration, maritime transport and logistics, education, academic exchange, and the environment.
