Minister-president Jan Jambon is very concerned about the Turkish operation in northern Syria. And especially about the fate of the Kurds in the region. He calls on the EU to exert pressure to prevent bloodshed.
Minister-president Jambon believes that the European Union should use all diplomatic options to change the current course of action of Turkey. At the same time, economic sanctions should be imposed. He also expects actions from NATO and the UN Security Council. The Minister-president is pleased that our country, currently member of the Security Council, will put the item on the agenda.
Minister-president Jambon emphasizes the Kurds essential role in the fight against ISIS. A role that they continue to play by keeping the region safe and ISIS fighters outside of Europe.
