The Bolivian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karen Longaric, and vice-Minister of Trade, Claribel Aparacio, were received by Minister-president Jambon at the Errera House on 30 September.
Bolivia mainly exports ores and minerals to Flanders. But with the establishment of an Export and Investment Agency, Bolivia hopes to promote the export of other products such as quinoa and cocoa. Prior to the meeting with the Minister-president, the Bolivian ministers already visited the Port of Antwerp.
Flanders and Bolivia have a well-functioning Memorandum of Understanding for "water-related matters" with as main Flemish partners the Department of Mobility and Public Works and FITA (Flanders International Technical Agency). The Ministers discussed the possibility of broadening the cooperation to the fields of digitisation, sustainable waste recycling and circular economy.
