On 6 July, Minister Zuhal Demir had a telephone consultation with her Dutch colleague, State Secretary Mona Keijzer, about the tourism sector in Flanders and the Netherlands.
Tourism is severely affected by the measures taken to contain the corona virus. The ministers therefore discussed at length the challenges for the tourism sector in both countries.
In order to support the sector, Minister Demir proposed to set up a joint action to attract Flemish and Dutch tourists across the border.
Both Ministers also decided to consult more closely in the European context and, where possible, to adopt a common position.
