On 15 October, the third edition of Flanders in Dialogue took place in Brussels. This time the theme of the event were the local elections of 14 October 2018. The election process and the results were explained to the international public.
In her speech, Secretary-General Julie Bynens introduced the topic of the evening: “For this edition of Flanders in Dialogue, we chose the local elections because they affect our daily lives directly. We may have different nationalities, but we have the same concerns."
Tom Verthé, postdoctoral assistant at the Centre for Local Politics at Ghent University and assistant-professor at the VUB, analysed the results of the municipal elections, together with moderator Lisa Bradshaw, editor-in-chief of Flanders Today.
Flanders in Dialogue is a series of network events for the expat community in Flanders and a joint venture of VLEVA, De Warande, The Rand and the Department of Foreign Affairs.
