Economic Flanders goes into high gear with new branding toolkit

On 7 May, Flanders Investment & Trade hosted the Flanders International Economic Summit ‘Embracing new stories’. In the presence of the Minister-President of the Government of Flanders and European Commissioner for Trade, Cecilia Malmström, a new branding toolkit was launched centered around 5 economic areas.

Together with stakeholders, partners and companies, FIT co-created a new branding toolkit centered around 5 economic areas: Life Sciences & Health; Food; Solution Driven Engineering & Technology; Smart Logistics and Sustainable resources and Materials & Chemistry. These tools will make Flanders recognizable across borders, highlight our solution-oriented approach and help international entrepreneurs expand their business.

FIT also presented a mid-term evaluation of the internationalization strategy ‘Flanders accelerates! 2017-2021’. Several results were presented, including the digital agenda (veroverdewereld.be) where international entrepreneurs can find dozens of events to enhance their potential, from business trips to matchmaking events to training sessions.

During the Flanders International Economic Summit, Commissioner Malmström stressed the importance of a strong multilateral trade system. Minister-president Bourgeois also agreed that protecting general trade rules should be a priority. He concluded by thanking Malmström for the EU trade agreements concluded during her term of office.
