From 8 to 10 October, the TCI Network Global Conference is gathering in Antwerp (Flanders) for the world’s largest cluster conference of the year, hosted by Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship (VLAIO) and Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT). TCI Network is the leading clusters event for government, business and academic leaders to make unexpected connections for economic growth and shared prosperity. For its 22th edition, the inspiring three-day #TCI2019 conference drew attention to the changing role of clusters in a constantly changing environment.
After an opening speech of Flanders Minister-president Jan Jambon, the participants had the opportunity to learn from international experts – including Richard Baldwin, professor and world reference in international economics - during interactive workshops, round table sessions and presentations. In addition to the opportunity to network with professionals, cluster staff, academics and government representatives from all over the world, 12 cluster tours were offered through top Flemish sectors such as chemistry, smart cities, agro and food, air freight and energy. Most of the activities took place in the host city of Antwerp, but a lot of other Flemish cities and municipalities were also on the programme.
Hosting the 2019 TCI Network Global Conference gives Flanders the unique chance to showcase its clusters and its expertise in cluster development, while providing ample occasions for international networking.
