Additional measures for Flemish export

  • June 15, 2020

The Government of Flanders grants 3 million euros to Flanders Investment & Trade for additional support measures for international entrepreneurs. This was announced by Minister-President Jan Jambon, together with Flemish Minister of Economy Hilde Crevits, on 15 June.

The corona crisis is severely affecting the Flemish trade figures. Exports decreased by 7.5% in March 2020 compared to the same period last year and imports even decreased by 11.5%. The prognosis for April is even worse.

The Corona Exit plan of Flanders Investment & Trade, approved by the Flemish Government on 5 June, should help to absorb these heavy blows. The additional support measures are an extension of this plan. These include a Corona support package, a Starter package for internationalisation and a 'Reboot your export' package.
