On 14 November Minister-president Geert Bourgeois had a meeting with Cyril Ramaphosa, the President of South Africa. President Ramaphosa was in Brussels for a working visit to the European Union, and for the EU-South-Africa Summit on 15 November.
The end of World War I was impressively commemorated in Flanders. On the initiative of the Government of Flanders, several parties worked together on a three-day programme with an universal message of peace.
Together with the Dutch ambassador in Hungary, René van Hell, General Representative David Maenaut opened the workshop "Migration, literature and identity" at the ELTE University in Budapest on 8 November.
On 5 November, the Government of Flanders headed to Middelburg, the Netherlands for the fourth biennial Flemish-Dutch summit. Innovation and infrastructure dominated the bilateral talks during the conference.
