On 6 July, Minister-president Geert Bourgeois met his Dutch counterpart, Mark Rutte. They discussed current EU affairs in “The Little Tower” (het Torentje) in The Hague. The ministers also talked about the next Flemish-Dutch Strategic Summit in Middelburg, Zeeland. Government members from both countries will discuss once again concrete cooperation dossiers on strategic level.

At the previous summit in Ghent in 2016, a letter of intent has been signed preparing a merger between the Port of Ghent and Zeeland Seaport. Today, the merger is finalized, in the form of the cross-border North Sea Port.

Together with Parliament Chairman Jan Peumans, Minister-president Bourgeois attented the annual reception in The Hague on the occasion of the Flemish Day.
