On 26 March, the Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) hosted the second edition of Flanders in Dialogue in the state-of-the-art auditorium of the brand new Herman Teirlinck building. This network event for expats was centered around the ‘Cycling in Flanders’ tourism policy, ahead of the Tour of Flanders race on Sunday 1 April.
Geert Goris, director of the Tour of Flanders Center in Oudenaarde and former pro cyclist Peter Van Petegem entertained the audience with heroic stories of the Tour of Flanders. The Tour of Flanders increasingly attracts international attention, including among cycling tourists. Cycling has become an intrinsic part of Flanders’ cultural heritage and brings significant economic returns.
Flanders in Dialogue is a networkevent specifically addressed to the expat community. It takes place twice a year with the intention to invite expats to get acquainted with Flanders.
The next edition of Flanders in Dialogue takes place on 15 October 2018. It will offer first hand analysis of the results of the municipal elections of Sunday, 14 October 2018.
Flanders in Dialogue is a co-production of the Department of Foreign Affairs, vzw De Rand, de Warande and liaison agency Flanders-Europa, Vleva.
