Bourgeois and Scotland’s First Minister Sturgeon exchange views on Brexit

  • August 12, 2018

On 11 and 12 August, Minister-president Bourgeois paid a visit to Edinburgh. A warm meeting with Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland offered an opportunity to discuss Brexit.

During his two-day visit to Edinburgh, Bourgeois discussed the most recent developments on Brexit with his Scottish colleague Sturgeon. Flanders and Scotland have been working closely together for years in the terms of transport, public security and the North Sea. R&D, Eramsus+ and Horizon 2030 are also viewed on both sides as concrete examples of effective cooperation between the regions. Bourgeois therefore stressed the importance of a continuation of successful cooperation.

Bourgeois was also invited as guest of honour during the Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2018. This annual military and musical show, in which various armed forces and other participants perform, was given a remarkable final this year: the Last Post performed by the Royal Harmony Ypriana Wind Band Buglers.

The Royal Harmony Ypriana are performing at the Tattoo until 25 August.
