Australia was the last continent to be discovered by the Europeans, but a native population had been established there for millennia. Today, it is mainly inhabited by descendants of Europe and later Asia, but Aboriginals still constitute a large proportion of the population, especially in the Outback. In recent years, Flanders and Australia have enjoyed a close cooperation, working together on World War I commemorations. Flanders also has an economic representative in Melbourne.
