On 20 June, the Committee Foreign Policy of the Flemish Parliament visited the General Representation of the Government of Flanders to the EU (AAVR EU). General Representative Julie Bynens presented her team, in which all Flemish policy areas are represented, and their work to the members of parliament. The emphasis was obviously on the instruments used by the Flemish authorities to influence the policies of the EU. And on a number of hot topics.
The dialogue with the MEPs focused mainly on the latest developments in the Brexit – negotiations. At the same time, the MEPs expressed their interest in the way in which the flow of the enormous amount of EU information and documents is managed.
This visit was the last of a series. All the General Representations of the Government of Flanders has been visited by the Committee Foreign Policy during this legislation.
