On 7 and 8 May, Minister Tommelein paid a visit to North Rhine-Westphalia. The main purpose of his visit was the meeting with his NRW colleague, prof. Andreas Pinkwart, Minister for Economic Affairs, Digitization, Innovation and Energy. They exchanged views about renewable energy and the energy pact. Both ministers agreed that close and effective cooperation is indispensable. To this end, a short list of priorities will soon be exchanged. Next year, an energy congress will be organized on the occasion of the Flemish week in NRW.
Tommelein also visited energy supplier EnergieAgentur.NRW in Düsseldorf, the Geothermal Center in Bochum, aluminium producer Trimet in Essen and Next Kraftwerke in Keulen.
Minister Bart Tommelein: „North Rhine-Westphalia is not only our most important export market in Germany, but also an interesting partner to work with in many areas. We have joint energy challenges, such as making the switch to renewable energy, keeping energy affordable and ensuring reliable energy supply. We can learn a lot from each other. We will exchange our best practices and information about innovative projects.”
