For the first time, Arts Flanders Japan launched a call for projects. Flemish artists and cultural organizations that set up a collaboration in Japan or team up with a Japanese partner can apply for financial support for projects, partnerships and/or performances. This call aims to stimulate and support collaboration projects in the cultural scene at large (the arts, heritage and social-cultural activities).
The projects must either be developed by one Flemish partner and one partner in Japan or one Flemish partner who can prove that his/her project has sufficient Japanese content. This call is especially, but not exclusively, meant for projects that are realized in Japan. The financial support for the projects that are withheld is limited to a max. of € 15.000.
The call is an initiative of the Department of Culture and the Flemish cultural institute 'Arts Flanders Japan' and is part of the follow-up of the cultural mission of Minister Sven Gatz to Japan in December 2018.
Arts Flanders Japan aims to nurture and energize the cultural relations between Flanders and Japan. Besides building bridges, Arts Flanders Japan lowers thresholds for cooperation and wants to act as a driving force for Flemish-Japanese cultural interaction and cooperation.
