Minister Gatz (Culture), Minister Crevits (Education) and Dutch Minister for Education, Culture and Science, Jetje Bussemaker, were guests at the Dutch Language Union, where the new General Secretary Hans Bennis presented his future plans and the report "State of Dutch" .
The Language Union is a cross-border policy organization that ensures a fully-fledged Dutch language through an integral language policy. This, by order of the Dutch, Flemish and Surinamese government. With Aruba, Curacao and Saint Maarten, where Dutch is also an official language, there are cooperation agreements. The General Representative in the Netherlands, Axel Buyse, acts as observer at the Dutch Language Union and oversees the synergy between their policy and that of the broader Flemish-Dutch cooperation.
